My interest in the fashion industry started when I was very little. I've been sewing with my grandmother before I could sit up on my own, and I still cherish the portfolio of dress designs I developed throughout elementary and middle school.
When I moved to Kansas City, I became involved in Fashion Week. I fell in love with the way it brought the fashion industry to the eyes of our community in Kansas City.
I attended UMKC, and obtained a bachelors of arts in chemistry, believing a career in health care was my future.
Through my entrepreneurship minor though, I fell in love with the concept of starting business to solve big problems. I discovered the idea of co-working spaces, and dug into the idea of starting one myself. The summer before my senior year, my (now) partner encouraged me to apply to the E-Scholars program at UMKC’s Regnier Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
My puny idea bloomed into a feasible concept during the mentorship and guidance of the program… and here we are!
I’m passionate about KC culture, our fashion industry, and I want to see designers thrive here. I can’t wait to see how BeeHouse contributes in building all three!
